Sonal Uberoi
Born in Kenya with an Indian background, Sonal brings over 10 years of operations and management experience in the spa and wellness sector to her role as the Founding Director of Spa Balance Consulting.
Sonal holds a Bachelor of Law degree possessing strong financial and business skills gained through her prior experience with Goldman Sachs in the City of London. After a few years focussed in the financial sector, Sonal decided to leave the City of London and dedicate herself full-time to her passion; the world of integral wellness in the spa, beauty and wellness sectors.
Sonal employs a holistic vision in her work; she strongly believes in team work and a collective business model where a win-win situation is created for all parties involved. This is the only way one can prosper and grow. Furthermore, Sonal has the conviction of respecting both the values of communities and the environment. Her philosophy is founded upon the concept that one can only achieve true well-being by living in harmony with the environment and everything that surrounds us.
Taking these concepts to the business world, Sonal promotes and encourages sustainable business practices in the spa, beauty and wellness sectors as the conservation of the environment and surrounding communities is beneficial for both current and future generations. Sonal’s efforts and endeavours over the past few years lead Spa Balance Consulting to become the first Green Globe Preferred Partner Spa promoting sustainable business practices in these sectors in Spain and Portugal.
The need for creating reliable benchmarks for standards of quality and education has lead Sonal to collaborate with highly qualified teams of international experts for each of her projects with the aim of raising the bar in standards. Sonal has actively participated with the British International Spa Association representing the spa sectors in Spain and Portugal. This collaboration has also driven Sonal to develop management training courses for professionals with the spa, beauty and wellness sectors in order to face the lack of appropriate education at the management level in these sectors.
Moreover, Sonal actively participates in speaking engagements in trade events and conferences on an international level.
Sonal is passionate about sport and integral wellness. She also enjoys traveling and discovering new cultures where her extensive experiences have allowed her to have this more open-minded approach to life and business.
