What can a management assistance contract do for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A management assistance contract covers the services of a management company until an adequate spa director has been brought on board or alternatively a competent therapist has been fully trained by the management company to handle basic day-to-day operations. The spa will be supervised by a team of specialists in spa and technical staff management who will be able to guarantee the quality of the treatments that are provided. The management assistance contract allows the hotelier to maintain administrative control of its spa operations and of its trained spa staff.<\/p>\n

The management company will oversee the staff while taking charge of the spa\u2019s technical operations. In addition to this, the company will train other staff like Food & Beverage or Rooms Managers or an office staff acting as de facto responsible for the spa. The management assistance contract lasts from 1.5 to 3 years and is renewable as needed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

An ideal management assistance contract<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>An ideal management assistance contract should include a permanent hotline for emergencies, an email address to answer questions within 24 hours, and a monthly visit by the specialists of the spa management company in order to audit the spa’s operations, evaluate the spa\u2019s performance and provide on-going training to all employees including the hotel\u2019s key staff.<\/p>\n

The advantage of this type of contract is that it is more affordable than a regular management contract. Additionally, it allows for significant savings on the sometimes unsustainable salary of a spa director. Depending on the size, location and complexity of the spa, a spa director (in Spain) can earn around 30.000\u20ac per year.\u00a0 In order to calculate the cost to the hotelier, 34% employer’s social security payments would need to be added in addition to annual leave holidays and public holidays. \u00a0This leads to an estimated total cost of 40.200\u20ac, not taking into consideration the knowledge the spa director might have and the training he or she would require in order to effectively manage the spa, all these costs being additional to the estimated total cost.<\/p>\n

Another important factor that needs to be considered on top of these direct costs is staff turnover. This is quite common in newly opened spas where the turnover of directors is high because of the lack of expertise that some directors have compared to the level of work that is required from them.<\/p>\n

A management assistance contract, which involves an ongoing training, would range between 20.000\u20ac and 40.000\u20ac and upwards, depending on location, size and complexity of the spa operations. It is an investment that guarantees that the spa and hotel staff are fully trained, encourages consistency in quality of treatments and services, ensures operational performance and optimizes profits thanks to the marketing and management know-how that our specialists have. The final result of such an investment is a significant reduction in operating costs including stability and consistency in spa operations.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>La ventaja del contrato de gesti\u00f3n guiada radica en acaparar los servicios de una empresa de gesti\u00f3n d\u00e1ndole tiempo al spa de encontrar un director adecuado o, alternativamente, un buen terapeuta qui\u00e9n ser\u00e1 formado por la empresa de gesti\u00f3n. El spa ser\u00e1 supervisado por un equipo de especialistas de gesti\u00f3n de spas y de personal t\u00e9cnico para asegurar la calidad de tratamientos y servicios. De igual forma, la gesti\u00f3n guiada le permite al hotelero mantener el control administrativo y pagar las n\u00f3minas de los empleados.<\/p>\n

La empresa de gesti\u00f3n supervisar\u00e1 el personal y se encargar\u00e1 de las operaciones t\u00e9cnicas del spa. Adem\u00e1s, esta proveer\u00e1 asistencia en la formaci\u00f3n de personal competente en otras \u00e1reas del hotel como por ejemplo el director de alimentos y bebidas o de habitaciones as\u00ed como un miembro del personal de la oficina para ejercer de responsable de facto del spa. El contrato de gesti\u00f3n guiada normalmente oscila entre un a\u00f1o y medio y tres a\u00f1os y se renueva seg\u00fan la necesidad.<\/p>\n

Un contrato ideal de gesti\u00f3n guiada<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Un buen contrato de gesti\u00f3n guiada deber\u00eda incluir un hotline permanente para emergencias, una direcci\u00f3n de correo electr\u00f3nico capaz de responder a preguntas dentro de 24 horas, una visita mensual de expertos de la empresa de gesti\u00f3n para auditar las operaciones del spa suministrando adem\u00e1s formaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de talleres y seminarios para todo el equipo del spa, incluyendo el personal clave del hotel.<\/p>\n

La ventaja de este contrato es que su coste es mucho menor que el coste del contrato corriente de gesti\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s permite un ahorro significativo en el salario, muchas veces insostenible, del director. Un director de spa (en Espa\u00f1a) suele cobrar un sueldo de hasta 30.000\u20ac\/ a\u00f1o m\u00e1s 34% por seguridad social y vacaciones. El coste total ser\u00eda de unos 40.200\u20ac\/ a\u00f1o sin tener en cuenta los conocimientos del director y la eventual formaci\u00f3n que este necesitar\u00eda, lo cual implicar\u00eda costes adicionales para el hotelero o propietario. Tambi\u00e9n hay que tener en cuenta la rotaci\u00f3n del personal. En particular para spas de nuevas aperturas, se puede observar una alta rotaci\u00f3n de directores ya que la experiencia de estos se ve superada por el nivel de trabajo existente.<\/p>\n

Un contrato de gesti\u00f3n guiada que incluya una formaci\u00f3n continua, oscila entra 20.000-40.000\u20ac anuales, dependiendo de diversas estimaciones as\u00ed como del tama\u00f1o, la ubicaci\u00f3n, la complejidad de las actividades del spa.
