Project Skills : Operational set-up and spa management training

The amazing Relais & Chateaux Eco Hotel in Galicia – housed in a restored building that was once a jail, then a paper factory – turned to Spa Balance to manage its operational set-up and opening. The spa’s location was a key challenge: not only was the target clientele a few kilometers away, in the next city, but the very concept of a spa was new to the area. Spa Balance introduced preferential pricing to attract and retain local customers, and suggested a phased opening to offset revenue losses due to construction delays. Based on collected data, we then implemented a dynamic pricing revenue management system to reduce seasonal fluctuations in both hotel and spa. We also engineered a responsive treatment menu that reflected and took advantage of customer preferences.

But most importantly, our Spa Balance management training provided spa manager Mar with the knowledge and tools she needed to run a brilliantly successful business: our comprehensive one-year audit showed that the A Quinta da Auga spa was profitable and on track with financial projections. And on the HR side, attentive management resulted in extremely low staff attrition – almost unheard of in an industry famous for extremely high staff turnover.
